Il motto del club è “it don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that swing” e per festeggiare il nuovo anno non potevamo scegliere meglio! Per aspettare insieme il 2017 al Gregory’s c’è la Red Pellini SwingBand, e un menu speciale. L’allegria, l’ottima musica e tutto lo swing di uno spettacolo che per questa serata si annuncia più speciale del solito.“A qualcuno piace caldo”; forse basterebbe questo per presentarvi il jazz di Fabiano Pellini che non è solo un eccellente musicista, arrangiatore e compositore, ma soprattutto un grande cultore del jazz tradizionale. Chi ci frequenta da qualche tempo lo conosce già, chi ci scopre per la prima volta sarà travolto da tutto il jazz che gli scorre nelle vene.

Dotato di una profonda e raffinata cultura musicale e di una notevole impronta swing fa di ogni suo concerto un’occasione per apprezzare lo spirito degli anni della Jazz Era, quando il jazz si ballava e nelle grandi dance hall si esibivano le celeberrime orchestre di Glen Miller, Benny Goodman, Paul Whiteman ecc… Pellini attraversa infatti il periodo che va dagli anni ’20 agli anni ’40 con una familiarità che gli deriva dallo studio e dalla grande cultura jazzistica – è uno dei massimi esperti di Bix Beiderbecke – e soprattutto dalla capacità di suonare e dirigere non per eseguire semplicemente dei brani ma prima di tutto per trasmettere al pubblico il carattere di una musica che fa del coinvolgimento e dell’energia contagiosa la sua cifra stilistica principale.

– Per farvi trascorrere nella massima serenità e rilassatezza l’ultima notte dell’anno e per assicurare un servizio adeguato, abbiamo deciso di ridurre la capienza del locale a 40 posti, distribuiti tra i due livelli sui quali si sviluppa il club: la sala bar – ristorante al piano terra e la sala concerto al piano superiore. La cena sarà servita a partire dalle 20.00 con antipasti e contorni a buffet no limits e open wine bar, e quindi le portate principali per fare in modo che tutti abbiano la possibilità di cenare con calma prima di assistere al concerto: due ore di vibrante jazz caldo e un jam session sempre pronta a partire… A mezzanotte il fatidico brindisi sarà offerto dal club, che, poi, aprirà le porte per condividere gli auguri e il prolungamento dei festeggiamenti con tutti gli amici che vorranno raggiungerci e salutare una volta e per tutte il 2016… –

New Year’s Eve 2017 @ Gregorys’ Jazz Club
RED PELLINI SWINGBAND!

New years’ eve of 2017 is with the jazz show of Red Pellini and his Swing Band, and a special dinner menu. Starting at 8pm you can have a fine dinner – with open wine bar and an appetizers and contours free buffet – waiting for the swing show at 10pm with one of the most refined and powerfull saxophonist: Red Pellini – amazing on tenor sax as much on alto and baritone sax.

Pellini is not only an excellent musician, bandleader, arranger and composer, but also a jazz conoisseur, in love with the swing era and the traditional jazz – carrying Bix and Satchmo in his musical heritage, and going on playing a music that arises from the passionate study of the great songbooks, from standards and traditional genres, and giving everytime a real homage to the names, the expressions and personalities that are central to the history of jazz – from Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Louis Armstrong, Benny Goodman to Duke Ellington, Bix Beiderbecke, Ella Fitzgerald, Oscar Peterson and Lester Young.

Pellini, will bring us in a vintage journey from the Roaring Twenties to the 50s, to celebrate a music that can be popular, and contrary to common belief, that can be appreciated when it’s more catching and pleasant even for the untrained listener. There’s a quote that identifies our idea of jazz: “it do not mean a thing if it is not got that swing” and to celebrate the new year we could not make a better choice!

We decided to reduce the capacity of the club to 40 seats only – splitted between the two floors: in the whisky-bar and restaurant lounge on groundfloor and in the concert hall upstairs – to provide you a pleasant, relaxing and comfortable experience. Dinner will be served starting at 20:00 with appetizers and contours free buffet and open wine bar, and then, before the concert, quietly the main courses. The midnight toast will be offered by the club, and in the first hour of the 2017 we’ll open the doors to share the good wishes and the continuation of the festivities with all the friends who want to reach and say goodbye – one and for all – to the 2016…
