La leggenda dice che in occasione di una maratona di ballo durante le celebrazioni della trasvolata di Charles Lindbergh (detto lindy) sull’Atlantico (hop, balzo, salto), Shorty George dopo aver eseguito uno dei suoi passi secondo uno stile già in voga in alcune sale da ballo di Harlem, disse che stava facendo il Lindy Hop, I’m doin’ the Hop… the Lindy Hop, probabilmente pensando al celebre volo da New York a Parigi del pioniere dell’aviazione degli Stati Uniti.
Per il primo sabato invernale vogliamo proporre una serata a tema aviatore e a base di Swing per tutti i Lindy Hoppers in una location storica situata in una delle più belle colline fiorentine con una splendida vista sulla città e a soli 10 minuti dal centro storico. La villa può essere raggiunta non solo con auto propria e taxi, ma anche con l’Autobus N° 25 che passa ogni 15 minuti.

Have you ever wondered how did the name Lindy Hop born?
The legend says that during a dance marathon during the celebrations of the flight of Charles Lindbergh (called Lindy) Atlantic (hop, jump, jump), Shorty George after performing one of his steps in a style already in vogue in several Ballrooms in Harlem, said he was doing the Lindy Hop, I’m doin ‘the Hop … the Lindy Hop, probably thinking of the famous flight from New York to Paris of the US aviation pioneer.
For the first winter Saturday we want to propose a theme aviator Swing night party for all the Lindy Hoppers in a historical venue located in one of the most beautiful Florentine hills with a splendid view of the city, 10 minutes far from the historic center. Villa le rondini can be reached not only by car or taxi but also with the bus number 25 which runs every 15 minutes .
