Il 26 maggio è un giorno importante per tutti i lindyhoppers, è l’anniversario della nascita del papà del lindy hop: mr. Frankie Manning. Le celebrazioni si svolgeranno in tutto il mondo e noi a Roma lo festeggeremo con una grande festa tutta da ballare!
Special guest della serata, il figlio artistico di Frankie: RYAN FRANCOIS
AVVENIMENTO UNICO!
Ballerino, coreografo, showman televisivo, è stato due volte vincitore del U.S. Open and American Swing Dance Championships. Ha recitato nella famosa scena di lindy hop nel film “Malcolm X” di Spike Lee ed è stato il coreografo delle scene di ballo del film “Swing Kids”.

Alle ore 21:40 lezione a numero chiuso con Ryan Francois su “Le Figure di Frankie – Frankie’s Move”
La lezione è in collaborazione con la scuola di ballo SwingHaus, i posti sono limitati (solo 30 coppie) e solo su prenotazione tramite modulo sull’evento Facebook.
Non sarà possibile accedere alla lezione senza prenotazione.
Poi dalle 22:30 daremo il via alla festa e al grande Shim Sham in onore di Frankie, che balleremo sulla musica dal vivo della BIXI BIG BAND!
Un’orchestra composta da 18 elementi con un repertorio che fa riferimento alle grandi orchestre del passato: Duke Ellington, Count Basie e Artie Shaw e molte altre.
Una caratteristica della Bixi Big Band è l’utilizzo di arrangiamenti originali dall’archivio del band leader newyorkese Vince Giordano e che venivano eseguiti dalle grandi orchestre americane tra gli anni ’20 e ’40.
La Bixi Big Band è diretta da Carlo Capobianchi e alle voci Francesca Faro e Luca Mainardi.
E siccome è anche il Closing Party dello Swing All Night Long! di questa bellissima stagione allo Zanussi di Roma, i dj in consolle saranno 4:

Lo Swing All Night Long! è giunto quest’anno alla sua 9° edizione.
Nasce il 30 ottobre del 2008 da un’idea di Lalla Hop, quella di unire a Roma la musica e il ballo swing in un’unica serata, sotto lo stesso tetto, nella stessa pista.

Dancer, choreographer, television showman, he won twice the US Open and American Swing Dance Championships.
He starred in the famous scene of lindy hop in Spike Lee’s “Malcolm X” movie and was the choreographer of the dance scene of the “Swing Kids” movie.

Then at 22:30 the party will start and we all dance the Shim Sham in honor of Frankie on the live music of BIXI BIG BAND.
An orchestra composed of 18 elements with a repertoire referring to the great orchestras of the past: Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Artie Shaw and many others.
A feature of the Bixi Big Band is the use of original arrangements from the archive of the leading New York band Vince Giordano and performed by the great American orchestras in the 1920s and 1940s.

“Swing All Night Long” is at its ninth edition. It was born in October, 2008, from Lalla Hop’s idea of putting together swing music and dance under a same roof, on the same dance floor.
