Ha iniziato a collezionare vinile in formato 7 pollici (45 giri) nel 2002 dopo essere stato voce e paroliere in CupoBeat Enterprise, un progetto di elettronica/d’n’b/spokenwords con il quale ha vinto l’edizione del 1999 di Arezzo Wave e pubblicato 2 album tra il 1998 e il 2001.

Ad oggi possiede circa 3200 dischi, tra 45 giri in vinile e 78 giri in gommalacca. Tra il 2002 e il 2009 la proposta musicale come selezionatore di vinili spaziava tra i generi musicali tipici degli anni ’60, il surf, il beat, il post beat e la prima psichedelia.

Da circa 8 anni a questa parte, anche per l’interesse storico riguardo gli anni compresi tra le due guerre e l’immediato dopoguerra di fine ’40, ha focalizzato la ricerca di vinili, sia 7 pollici che 78 giri, sui generi musicali in voga tra l’inizio degli anni ’30 e la fine dei ’50 con particolare attenzione allo swing ballabile.

A Belluno ha tutt’ora attivo il progetto con il quale ha iniziato nel 2002, vale a dire “Maurizio e gli Atomi” che condivido con l’amico Maurizio De Min.

Si tratta di selezione, sempre su formato 45 giri, di tutti quei generi musicali che facevano ballare l’Italia nell’immediato dopoguerra, uno spaccato storico sulla musica in voga in quegli anni senza nessuna discriminazione di generi musicali.

Una riproposizione fedele di quello che realmente si ascoltava.

Come Gionny FortyFive seleziona swing ballabile; il periodo di riferimento è quello della Swing Era vale a dire quel decennio compreso tra il 1935 e il 1945.

Questa scelta è arrivata dopo essersi avvicinato al mondo del Lindy Hop e dopo aver compreso quanto fa parte di sé questo ballo. Avendo già molto materiale in vinile e gommalacca a disposizione ha voluto avviare un progetto di specifica selezione per i ballerini. E quindi anche per se stesso.

Prima di tutto si sente un collezionista, poi si diverte molto appoggiare la puntina sui microsolchi e condividere.

He started collect vinyls in 7 inches format (45 rpm), in 2002 after being voice and lyricist in CupoBeat Enterprise, a project of electronic/d’n’b/spokenwords with which he won the 1999 edition of Arezzo Wave and released two albums between 1998 and 2001.

As of today he possess about 3,200 discs, including 45 rpm vinyl and 78 rpm shellac records.

Between 2002 and 2009 the musical proposal as vinyls selector ranged between typical musical genres of the ’60s, surf, beat, the first after-beat and psychedelia. From about 8 years now, even for his historical interest in the years between the two World Wars and the immediate post-war period during the end of forties, he focused the search for vinyls, both 7 inch and 78 rpm, around the musical genres in vogue between the beginning of the ’30s and the end of the 50’s with particular attention to the danceable swing.

In Belluno, the city where He was born and raised, He have still active a project which He started in 2002, namely “Maurice and the Atoms” and He share this with his good friend Maurizio De Min. It’s about selection, always on size 45 rpm vinyls, of all those genres that were dancing Italy after the war, an historical insight into the music in vogue in those years without any discrimination of musical genres. A faithful reproduction of what really was listened in those year.

As Gionny FortyFive He select danceable swing; the range of years in which He focuse his selection is the one of the Swing Era, that is to say the decade between 1935 and 1945. This decision came after He approached the world of Lindy Hop and after understanding what is part of himself this dance. Having already a lot of material in vinyl and shellac available He wanted to start a project of specific selection for dancers. And so even for himself.

First of all He feel himself as a collector, then He really enjoy it put the needle on the micro-grooves and share.
